Where you can party queer in Bogota, Medellin and Cartagena
Colombia is a country full of energy, joie de vivre, and sensuality – perfect for anyone who loves culture, sunshine, and good vibes. It's no wonder that this South American country has long since become a hotspot for gay travelers.
And since we are proud to produce our products, such as underwear and T-shirts made from Pima cotton, in Colombia among other places, we want to show you where you can experience the real nightlife - from hot dance floors in Bogota to relaxed beach parties in Cartagena.
Bogotá – capital city and, alongside Medellin, the center of the queer scene
When it comes to gay nightlife in Colombia, Bogotá is a must-see. The Chapinero district, in particular, is the heart of the LGBTQ community. Here you'll find bars, clubs, and drag shows to suit every taste.
Theatron - The largest gay club in South America:
If you're talking about a club in Colombia that simply can't be missed, then it's Theatron. Once an old cinema, now a huge nightclub complex with over 18 different dance floors – there's something for every musical taste.
Up to 5,000 people party here on Fridays and Saturdays. You can switch between rooms with different music genres, themes, and vibes – from boys-only floors to drag performances.
Our tip: It's best to arrive early in the evening – later it can get very crowded and you might not be allowed in.

El Mozo Club:
Large club, safe and great service. Also perfect for after-work drinks.
Village Café:
A relaxed starting point for the evening with good music and international guests.
Medellín - Creative, open and sexy
Medellín, the city of eternal spring and Colombia's second-largest city, is known for its pleasant climate and vibrant atmosphere. Medellín is also the textile capital of Latin America, so it's no surprise that almost all of our products are made here. The upscale El Poblado district, in particular, boasts many trendy bars, while the Laureles neighborhood also has its share of hotspots.
Bar Chiquita (El Poblado):
The undisputed favorite of many locals and travelers. The gay bar Chiquita offers a mix of kitschy glamour, colorful lights, and charming decorations. The Sungay events, in particular, are legendary. The drag shows are spectacular, and the cocktails are among the best in the city.

Donde Aquellos (El Poblado):
Less than 100 meters from Bar Chiquita. One of Medellín's oldest gay bars – cozy, charming, and with a real community feel. Ideal for starting the evening, meeting new people, and less for dancing and partying.

Purple Club (Laureles):
They know how to create a great atmosphere here: with drag queens, go-go dancers, and themed parties that bring Medellín's LGBTQ+ community together. The two-story building features a main room with a stage, decorated entirely in purple, a cozy bar, and an open-air terrace. Open on weekends.

Vintrash (El Poblado):
A stylish club with three floors and various music genres such as electro, house, salsa, and of course, reggaeton. Gringo Tuesdays are especially recommended, where locals can learn English and tourists can learn Spanish. A great opportunity to connect with Colombians. Open to everyone—but with a strong queer crowd.

Cartagena - Caribbean nights with a gay flair
If you're looking for sun, sand, and history, you'll love Cartagena. The queer scene is smaller, but all the more welcoming – with spots right in the historic center.
Gabanna Bar Club:
Arriving early is recommended, as it can get very crowded later in the evening, especially on weekends. The venue has three floors, including a dark room. Elegant, modern, and very popular with locals, it plays house, Latin, and pop music – often with live DJ sets.
The City Club:
One of the few gay clubs in the old town. Unfortunately, the entrance fee is quite high and the music is very loud.
More than just parties - discover Colombia's queer culture
Colombia stands for openness, creativity, and diversity. In cities like Cali, Barranquilla, and Santa Marta, new queer spaces are also emerging, often centered around art, music, and fashion.
Insider tip: Visit the local Pride festivals in June or July - especially Bogotá Pride is an experience with over 100,000 participants!
On the day of your visit, check opening hours and safety in the neighborhood. Some areas are not safe at night. We generally recommend taking a taxi and not carrying valuables. However, it's fair to say that the safety situation has improved significantly in recent years. There are cities in the US that are more dangerous than Medellín or Bogotá.
Why we produce in Colombia, among other places
Since Donny is from Colombia, it makes sense to produce in this great country - a country that, just like us, stands for courage, passion and diversity.
Our pieces are made here by seamstresses and tailors who share the same love for detail that you can feel in every seam. And next time you're in Colombia, grab your favorite underwear , head out, and celebrate life in one of these incredible places.
Conclusion: Colombia is the new must-go destination for gay travelers.
From the endless nights at the Theatron to the sunrises over Cartagena - Colombia is an open country that welcomes you.
