The name PARCERO

After deciding to start a fashion label together, we quickly set about finding a suitable name. It had to be short and catchy, and immediately hint at the origin of our products – in other words, it had to sound Spanish. Founders usually put a lot of thought into their names. However, many don't consider them particularly important. For us, the name, along with the products and their quality, is the heart of our fashion label.

After a lengthy search, we settled on PARCERO. This term comes from Colombian slang (it's virtually unknown in the rest of the Spanish-speaking world) and means something like "very good friend." The shortened form "Parce" is also frequently heard and seen.

After we finally found our name, I heard some people say, "You can't use that name because nobody knows how to pronounce it!" But we think everyone should be able to pronounce the name however they like. The correct pronunciation is roughly 'Parßero', similar to 'Barcelona'.
